How We Started

In 1992, a retiring pastor and some savvy entrepreneurs recognized an emerging opportunity in the affordable housing business. They launched Community Reinvestment Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at creating and sustaining high-quality low-income housing for people who need it, with half the business profits designated for underwriting global missions projects. Through years of hard work, their idea began to flourish more than any of them ever imagined.

Until 2015, all the company’s charitable investment was handled by ActioNow, the missions fundraising organization pioneered by one of CRF’s founding board members. The Stone Table was launched as the 21st-century renewal of that original vision, leveraging business to create sustainable revenue for global missions work while serving the Church in the arena of faith and work.

The Stone Table Team

Below you will find the amazing team that keeps The Stone Table moving forward. Through years of church leadership and business development, we are blessed to have everyone involved.

After starting his career in the business world, Erik spent 12 years in full-time ministry, both on staff at a large suburban church and as a church planter in a downtown urban context. In addition to his role at The Stone Table, he also serves as the Vice President of Community Reinvestment Foundation, a nonprofit real estate company that provides high-quality affordable housing all over Indiana while investing its profits into missions through The Stone Table.

After spending years on the creative staffs at multiple churches and even starting a business of his own, Darren joined the CRF team and now helps The Stone Table with web development. He also plays the guitar better than you.

“If the witch understood the true meaning of sacrifice, she might have interpreted the Deep Magic differently, for when a willing victim who has committed no treachery, dies in a traitor’s stead,
The Stone Table
will crack and even death itself will turn backwards.”
